Cloud Part I-business models that your supply chain needs to recover and restore

Assume this model targets a cloud strategy with governance by design and the adjacent possibility model.

  • A number of pro-active processes must be rationalized to secure the cloud, with the re-use of current investments.
    • In doing so, we maximize the features in each stakeholders current value stream – while saving some of the power consumption used to transport data all over the web.
    • Under no circumstances would this model promote acquisition of personal identifiable information nor would we ask to acquire customer confidential and proprietary information.
  • The design strategy intends to maximize the connections in a way to promote effective risk strategies with every stakeholders interest factored and identified as a performance indicator
    • We have to understand the need for a separation of concerns.
    • The solution can be as simple as separating your concerns in a SharePoint layer which gets your people out of spreadsheets.  This application has many of the audit requirements if done well.
    • The information can be modeled and monitored with a system model in a simulation tool or move to SharePoint to visualize the requirement; before even going to the next level.

Before any new technology application investment considerations we must assume a full design review by an industry stakeholder community of practice.

  • There are experts who know the People, Purpose, Process and Data.
    • These are systems people.
  • As an example; the largest gap in today’s culture across small, medium and large companies-the anything goes culture.
    • Policies are designed to be changed and every organization can create their own.
      • If you already use groups for mailers…you have nearly made life simple with Active Directory managing your  people using the organization hierarchy in active directory.
      • For this reason we seem to have started down this path when a child enters the education system.  We break down subjects and teach as if they were unrelated.
  • We begin to break things into smaller parts without the synthesis of the whole.
    • Whether you ignore the parts or duplicate them or count the “thing” and a term that means the activity the thing must be taken through to become the thing; then exclude the activity means to deliver and then finally you still measure the outcomes of the activity.
  • How do we justify this approach?
      • If you exclude the process you cannot claim to provide anything more than subjective results-you cannot measure what you refuse to acknowledge.
      • If you include the “thing” you must ask the questions of the way the thing behaves in at rest, in each function and when it stops being one thing to become another for someone else to start their process.
      • Basically we have been measuring what?
